When travelling on or off road, high quality suspension is vital. The suspension carries the sprung weight of the vehicle, and 4WD vehicle are often large and heavy from the factory and can be loaded with upgrades or equipment which puts further strain on factory suspension. When a vehicle has been armoured though, this weight can often be far in excess of what the factory suspension can cope with. From B4 VPAM ballistic ratings through B5, B6 and B7, GVW can greatly increase, and this means that a B4 rated build has very different suspension requirements to a B7 armoured vehicle.

Fortunately, Australian suspension experts Terrain Tamer have applied their decades of specialist knowledge to the armoured vehicle market. A range of kits has been developed, covering B4 to B7 equipped vehicles, and significantly increasing durability compared to standard factory components. Regardless of the type of terrain in which the vehicle is operated, from urban to desert conditions, this Terrain Tamer suspension kit is durable and dependable when you need it most.

Terrain Tamer suspension kits are available for B4, B5, B6 and B7 armoured vehicle conversions. Component parts have been specially selected to suit the additional weight of armoured vehicle builds, so this kit is NOT intended for normal overland builds or leisure vehicles. Coil springs are greatly uprated to suit increased amounts of weight, and the shock absorbers are 2.5 Series monotubes with 22mm shaft diameter, a 64mm piston and 66mm body. With a floating piston design and double U-Cup and Viper seal technology, this is a rebuildable and highly durable damper. Terrain Tamer kits are developed for use in a variety of conditions, from on-road travel to harsh off-road terrain.

To ensure that the kit is correct for your armoured vehicle, we ask customers to supply front and rear axle weights, plus overall vehicle weight. Additional parts can be supplied for most models such as heavy duty control arms and sway bars. We can also supply front and rear brake upgrades if needed, to improve stopping distance for armoured 4WD models and trucks.
