Many 4WD models come equipped with some form of basic side steps or side bars. While they may look good or offer a ster for entering and exiting the vehicle, these side bars tend to be largely cosmetic. When driving off road, it is all too easy to catch and bend these side bars, and sometimes they can damage the bodywork in the process. Also, many 4WD vehicles have higher ground clearance and this can create access issues, which become even more of an issue after suspension lifts or big tyres have been fitted.
Clearview were one of the pioneers of solving this problem by offering automatic electric steps or running boards. The steps deploy, quietly and quickly, when the doors are opened and then retract automatically when the door is closed. When folded, the steps sit close to the underside of the sill and allow for maximum ground clearance, with the motors and hinges being located high up and out of harm’s way.
When you need to keep the step deployed, such as to was the car or load the roof rack, this is easily achieve by closing the door with one foot on the step. This triggers the safety cut out and the steps will remail deployed until the doors are opened and closed again. With their durable finish and ease of installation, this is an eye catching, elegant and practical product for your vehicle.
