Clearview are the world’s leading manufacturer of vehicle model-specific towing mirrors and other 4WD accessories. Established in 2005 in Melbourne, Australia, the company set out to overcome a problem which faced many vehicle owners – visibility when towing caravans and trailers.

Most countries, including the UK, have strict regulations dictating the level of rear visibility which should be available to the driver when towing – and standard factory mirrors are often too close to the vehicle and too small to meet this legal requirement. Yes, you can take a trip to your local car parts store and buy a pair of flimsy clip-on mirrors – but they are mostly hopeless and give poor visibility and a lack of adequate adjustment.

Clearview worked on many different vehicle models, from the Toyota Hilux and Land Cruiser to the Ranger, L200, Navara, Amarok, D-Max and others, painstakingly mapping the vehicle wiring and templating the mounting positions to create model-specific sets of mirrors for each 4WD or truck. To be truly useful, the mirrors can be extended and retracted by the user, simply by moving them into the required position. This flexibility works for a wide range of trailer widths and also allows the mirrors to sit close to the vehicle when not towing.

Further refinement is offered with factory features being duplicated such as power adjustment and folding, heated mirrors, blind spot monitoring and more. When compared to the cost of buying replacement genuine factory mirrors, Clearview mirrors make both financial and practical sense.

As the product range has become more developed, Clearview have added two new mirror styles: Next Gen and Compact. As their names suggest, Next Gen is a refined version of the classic Original mirrors, with greater options for adjustment and a slightly more compact form factor. Compact mirrors are much smaller and look more similar to the OE-standard mirrors which your vehicle was supplied new with, giving a more OEM look and perhaps best suiting occasional towing users.

Whilst Clearview are best known for their towing mirrors with tens of thousands of sets in use worldwide and retailers in more than 30 countries, the company is well known and respected in the 4×4 world thanks to their ongoing innovation and passion for developing specialist products for serious overland users. This range includes fridge slides and drop fridge slides, plus a recently launched motorised slide which will lower your fridge by around 30cm at the touch of a button.

Other Clearview offerings include Power Boards electric side steps, the Tire Spider inflation device and the Clearview Pantry – a fold-out camp kitchen for off-road and camping. Fitting a Clearview product to your vehicle will enhance usability and practicality and will help to address some of the limitations the vehicle has when it leaves the factory.
