Revolution Gear & Axle was established in 2012 in Cerritos, California, USA. The founders were no strangers to the market, having already run several leading driveline and off-road brands in the USA for many years. However, Revolution set out to offer something different: high-spec gear packages and associated components for off-roading.

The US has a significant market for rock crawling and this is a famous pastime in areas such as Death Valley and the Rubicon Trail. As with many forms of off-roading, rock crawling demands the strongest components and the highest levels of vehicle control, but the risks are even greater when trying to manoeuvre a 3-tonne rig over huge boulders and this is where factory components such as differentials and axle shafts can come unstuck.

Replacing wheels and tyres is the most common 4×4 upgrade worldwide, but when you fit larger diameter tyres, the vehicle will increasingly lose power as the diff ratios are no longer correct for the tyre size. This phenomenon affects all models from the Jeep Wrangler to Hilux, Ranger, Land Cruiser, Navara, L200 or any other model you can think of, but fortunately with many 4WD vehicles it can be easily remedied. Enter the Revolution Gear & Axle re-gear kits.

A Revolution re-gear kit is much more than just a replacement crown wheel with a different number of teeth. Hard-working axles will eventually need replacement bearings, seals and other parts – and these parts can be replaced and upgraded at the same time as re-gearing thanks to Revolution’s comprehensive kits.

Depending on the vehicle model, there are often between four and six different ratio options to choose from. Each kit contains the required parts for both front and rear axles and generally this is all that you will need to carry out the re-gear task – but in a few cases different carriers or other model-specific parts might be needed and we can supply these as add-ons.

If you want to take your axles to the next level, we also offer Revolution shafts, drive flanges, diff covers, tools and other parts. Serious off-road users will appreciate the chance to re-gear and rebuild their axles along with the installation of ARB or Harrop Eaton ELockers and also to fit hardened shafts as these can become the next weak point in the chain after a diff upgrade.

Beyond upgrading your existing axles, we can even supply Dana Spicer complete heavy duty replacement axles for some models. These can be supplied built to various different specs, for road use or competition.
