Agile Off Road was founded in California, USA by John Brindell. With over 20 years’ experience in the off-road racing industry and then a 3 year stint at Fox Suspension, John had accrued a wealth of specialist experience and had always planned to one day open his own shop. With business partner Ramsey El Wardani, Brindell’s dream came true in 2016.
Although no longer an employee of Fox, Brindell worked closely with the company and partnered with them to create suspension kits for the Mercedes Sprinter range. Whilst the Sprinter platform is highly capable and has many excellent attributes when being used as a basis for off-grid campers, the factory suspension is a weak point and it struggles to cope with additional loads – whatever the terrain. With his specialist experience, Brindell knew that this could be greatly improved.
With carefully tuned Fox shocks on hand and a wealth of other bespoke suspension upgrades, Agile started to become known across America as the leading Sprinter modification brand. Innovations have come thick and fast, from underbody protection to wheels, fuel tanks and tuning products.
Slowly, Agile has evolved from being a Sprinter and Crafter specialist to embracing other models including the Transit, Ram Promaster, and Ineos Grenadier. Whilst their range continues to grow, Agile are probably most widely known for their RIP kits. RIP stands for Ride Improvement Package, and Agile are the only brand to offer fully integrated suspension kits for motorhome builders with specific goals in mind. For this reason, some of the world’s leading high-end van converters are happily offering Agile products to their customers.
Agile understand that their customers tend to cover a high number of road miles in their rigs, with significant amounts of extra weight on board, and many rigs are then used to tackle rocky trails or other off-road environments. With an extensive R&D and product testing program, Agile are able to accurately meet the demands of these customers and to offer unrivalled comfort, durability and stability – whatever the conditions.
When building your motorhome or 4WD rig, another vital component is dependable brakes. Many vans have nothing more than the most rudimentary of braking solutions as is required to meet safety regulations, and these brakes don’t take kindly to owners who insist on adding significant amounts of constant load – often approaching the manufacturer’s specified GVW – and then travelling across the world in search of adventure. Agile have therefore partnered with famous racing brake and clutch expert Alcon to create heavy duty braking packages with iron calipers, high friction pads and military-grade seals.
In our view, the Agile Big Brake Kits are the leading brake kit offered worldwide for Sprinter and other models, with an increased rotor diameter and stopping power to match.
