With so many winch brands available and some at bargain-bucket price points, it can be hard to choose the right winch for your needs. Whilst some lesser brands offer bright colours and lots of included accessories, the low price point often means compromised build quality and reduced reliability. Warn have over 50 years’ experience in building off-road products; when you buy a Warn winch you are making a sound investment. Designed to perform in the most strenuous conditions imaginable, Warn has demonstrated constant innovation throughout their history, investing heavily in state of the art testing equipment to ensure their products perform brilliantly, irrespective of the environmental conditions.

Instantly recognisable and loved by many, the M8274 winch has a long heritage and an appealing look. Everything the discerning user needs is combined into this product – looks, speed, durability and reliability. Once an 8,000lb winch, the M8274 now boasts 10,000lb of reliable pulling power, a 6HP motor, and an IP68 rated waterproof Albright connector for ultimate control. A pair of Oilite bushings installed on the pinion gear assembly give improved durability in extreme situations and a bolt and washer assembly replaces the retaining ring on the brake shaft. Warn have worked long and hard to improve this legendary winch and the result speaks for itself.

  • High output 6HP motor
  • Restyled high strength polymer control pack
  • Waterproof Albright electrical contactor
  • Ergonomic stainless steel clutch handle
  • Bluetooth app controllable

“Which winch is right for my needs?”
Generally speaking, an 8,000lb winch is fine for smaller vehicles, going up to 12,000lb for heavier full-size 4×4 models. Most importantly though, learning good off-road driving and winching techniques is the key to a successful and safe recovery.

“How do I fit a winch to my vehicle?”
A winch mount of some type will be needed in almost all cases. We recommend and sell various model-specific winch bumpers, also we offer a range of hidden winch mounts which can be installed inside your factory front bumper.

“Is this winch waterproof?”
Good quality winches are designed to withstand normal driving conditions, bad weather, etc. However, unless specifically stated, our winches are not designed to be driven into standing water. Should this happen, we recommend properly drying out your winch as soon as possible following the manufacturer’s guidelines.

“Is steel or synthetic rope better?”
Synthetic rope is safer, but it also requires more care in use. Either way, having proper recovery equipment is important to prevent rope damage.

“My winch rope looks damaged, is it safe?”
Damaged or worn ropes should be replaced immediately, contact us if you need advice.
