Oryx Solutions are a German manufacturer who are well known in the motorhome world for their innovative and practical upgrades and vehicle enhancements. They offer a wide range of upgrades for Sprinter and Crafter and other vans, including furniture kits and much more.
Many van layouts can work better if the bed is positioned in a transverse layout so that users can sleep across the vehicle. However, a typical van build has only about 1.85m of internal width depending on model. Therefore, Oryx designed a clever external pod to allow the width to be increased by about 100mm. Formed from multi-layered GRP and white gel-coated, this product can be installed by cutting out the window blank on the van side. It can then either be left in its natural finish or painted to suit. Common names for this upgrade include ears, flares, pods or body widening. To install, simply glue to the existing bodywork. An optional mounting frame can be supplied if needed to completely remove the outer mounting edges.
This product measures 1330mm x 580mm aprox. and weights 3.9kg. A cutting template is included. This pod cannot be fitted to any area which the sliding cargo door covers when the door is opened.
