When building a camping or overland rig, or just for day to day use, we all have smaller items which need to live in the vehicle but don’t have a specific place to be stored. Almost without exception, the cavity inside a vehicle tailgate or rear door is wasted as it is covered by a fixed panel.
Australian off road experts Huracan Fabrication have developed a clever and practical storage system winch converts the tailgate internal space into a useable storage locker. With durable hinges, a hardwearing finish, recessed latches and protection for the inside of the tailgate, plus the option of a polycarbonate protector panel, the tailgate can be used as before including for standing on or loading the vehicle, whilst housing a clever and hidden storage space.
Whilst waterproofing of the Tailgate Storage is not needed for most SUV models, this is a great upgrade for pickup trucks with an open bed or a non watertight load area. This rubber seal kit will seal the opening edge of the Tailgate Storage unit, keeping the contents dry and protected.
